Chocolate Chip Brownies

 

  • 200 grams Plain Chocolate
  • 115 grams Unsalted Butter
  • 3 Eggs
  • 200 grams Caster Sugar
  • 2.5 ml Vanilla Essence
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 150 grams Plain Flour
  • 175 grams Chocolate Chips
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas 4

  2. Line a 33 x 23cm baking tin with greaseproof paper and grease the paper

  3. Melt the chocolate and butter together in the top of a double boiler or in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of gently simmering water

  4. Beat together the eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt

  5. Stir the egg mix into the chocolate mixture

  6. Sift over the flour and fold in

  7. Add the chocolate chips and mix in

  8. Pour the mixure into the baking tin and spread evenly

  9. Bake for about 30 minutes until just set

  10. Leave to cool in the tin

  11. To turn out, run a knife all around the edge and invert on to a baking sheet

  12. Remove the paper, Place another sheet on top and invert again

  13. Cut into bars for serving
